Larry KE6AGJ and Bob W6MOL on amateur te...

66 Views - 0 Comments Interview with Larry KE6AGJ and Bob W6MOL at 2007 Field Day site for Sunnyvale ARES in Raynor Park, Sunnyvale on 6-23-07. Transmission was through the K6BEN amateur television repeater, uplink is 1.2GHz, downlink is 421.25MHz (cable channel 57). Uplink video was over-deviated and caused considerable dropouts. This is a draft videofile and I anticipate to replace it with a better file. Larry is the District Emergency Coordinator for Santa Clara County ARES/RACES organizations and Bob is his deputy and Emergency Coordinator for Sunnyvale city ARES. Larry visited several Field Day sites and I happen to catch him here when I did television transmission from Sunnyvale. Larry said he gets a lot of comfort to know our amateur radio operators have a wide range of capabilities which can be used in a disaster event when telephones and cellphones do not work. This draft file does not include interview with Bob but the updated file will include him. I uploaded this to share with others we performed TV transmission to include our DEC and Sunnyvale EC. Transmission was completely battery operated, reception was done on my home VCR recording K6BEN output. For more information on Santa Clara County ARES/RACES, see http://www.scc-ares-races.org This is real TV, not cellphone cam or wifi. We do it exactly like the bigtime broadcasters but we don't have the gillion dollar transmitter on top of Loma or Sutro. For more information on K6BEN, see http://www.mfwright.com/k6ben.html |
